The Facebook Infra Summit, brought together 2,500 Facebook infrastructure engineers for an internal conference in San Mateo, CA. Hit Play transformed the entire venue under the Mission Impossible theme through comic book noir style creative. The stylized design used a black, white and red palette projection mapped across a 120’ dimensional canvas structure, with custom motion graphics, opening and speaker intro videos, scenic elements and lighting throughout the venue.

The large, open venue space was divided into three sections; general session, an expo hall and a reception area designed to build excitement before opening general session, while solving creatively for challenging attendee flow. In alignment with the theme, the wall between GS and reception was projection mapped as vault doors. When it was time to open, the projection began to move, sirens blared, an announcement kicked off a self-destruct countdown and as the doors exploded opened, and lights and smoke filled the room, the theatrics energized the crowd, ushering them to their seats cheering, clapping and excited for the day ahead. The theme execution met our audience where they were at, landing perfectly by design and to our clients’ satisfaction.

The Infra Summit, and our attendee experience, was one of the first Facebook Live events captured on the platform.
