New 2025 Lakers Pre-Game Show:
Longtime partners, the Los Angeles Lakers, trust Hit Play season after season to translate their iconic brand identity into an elevated pregame fan experience. In preparation for the 2024-25 season, we came to them with an exciting and viable solution to redesign the opening and create an even greater impact, reengaging fans, while maintaining a nod to the historic projection look. As the team that seamlessly executes the pregame experience 40+ times throughout the season, we are constantly thinking about our continued evolution, integrating cutting edge technology into the show.
Hit Play concepted, designed, engineered and created the custom content for the upleveled pre-game experience. The roll drop structure is twice the size of the original Kabuki, providing 12,000 sq ft of projection surface for our 3500 lumen laser projectors and features 10 independently moving projection fabrics that can fully transition in just 10 seconds. The customizable rig can be programmed to accommodate different looks for multiple teams utilizing the same building.
Throughout the two-year process, Hit Play remained the communication hub, building relationships and garnering buy-in and approvals from the Crypto.com Arena GM, structural engineers, in game entertainment team, multimedia services team, building riggers, fire marshal, safety commissions, LA Lakers organization and President, the Buss family and the NBA. And while all of these groups are vital to the success of the project, top of mind throughout the process is always our #1 client – the fans.
